UnityAgentClient.Core

Core engine for Unity Agent Client — an AI agent plugin for Unity Editor.

This package bundles:

ACP Protocol (AgentClientProtocol namespace)

  • Full Agent Client Protocol implementation (v0.3.0)
  • ClientSideConnection / AgentSideConnection — JSON-RPC over stdio
  • Session lifecycle: initialize, authenticate, prompt, cancel, load, list, config
  • Elicitation (structured user input), usage tracking, context window

MCP Tool System (UnityAgentClient namespace)

  • IMcpTool — Interface for implementing MCP tools callable by AI agents
  • McpToolRegistry — Tool registration, permission checking, and main-thread dispatch
  • MetaToolRouter — Groups multiple tools under a single agent-facing tool with action routing
  • BatchTool — Cross-category batch execution

Skill System

  • SkillRegistry — YAML-based skill recipe loading and querying
  • SkillTool — MCP tool that exposes skill browsing/searching to agents
  • BuiltinSkills — 14 built-in skill recipes

Utilities

  • SessionStore — Session metadata persistence
  • Logger — Injectable logging facade (wire to UnityEngine.Debug or any backend)

Usage

Implement IMcpTool to create a custom tool:

public class MyTool : IMcpTool
{
    public string Name => "my_tool";
    public string Description => "Does something useful";
    public JsonElement InputSchema => ...;
    public bool RequiresMainThread => true;

    public McpToolResult Execute(JsonElement args)
    {
        return McpToolResult.Success("Done!");
    }
}

Publishing

  1. Ensure the repository secret NUGET_TOKEN is set to a nuget.org API key with push permission.
  2. Run the Publish NuGet package workflow from the default branch in GitHub Actions.
  3. Leave the workflow input at the default minor bump unless you explicitly want patch or major.

The workflow bumps <PackageVersion> in src/UnityAgentClient.Core.csproj, packs and publishes that new version to nuget.org, commits the bumped version back to the repository, pushes the commit to the default branch, then updates the matching v<PackageVersion> git tag and GitHub Release page with the package asset attached.
