Tolitech.EntityFrameworkCore.Generators

Purpose

Tolitech.EntityFrameworkCore.Generators is designed to automatically register all classes that implement the Microsoft.EntityFrameworkCore.IEntityTypeConfiguration interface in Entity Framework Core projects. By leveraging source generators, it eliminates the need for manual registration of each entity configuration and avoids the use of reflection, which can impact performance in large projects.

How It Works

At compile time, the source generator detects all IEntityTypeConfiguration implementations in your project and generates code that automatically registers each configuration in your DbContext's OnModelCreating method. This ensures that all configurations are applied without manual intervention and with no runtime reflection overhead.

Usage

  1. Implement your configurations as usual:

    public sealed class PersonConfiguration : IEntityTypeConfiguration<Person>
{
    public void Configure(EntityTypeBuilder<Person> builder)
    {
        builder.HasKey(x => x.Id);
        builder.Property(x => x.Name)
            .IsRequired()

  2. In your DbContext, use the generated method:

    protected override void OnModelCreating(ModelBuilder modelBuilder)

That's it! All entity configurations implemented in your project will be applied automatically.
