SIL.BuildTasks.AWS package

SIL.BuildTasks.AWS provides an msbuild task to publish files to an Amazon S3 bucket.

Tasks in the SIL.BuildTasks.AWS nuget package:

S3BuildPublisher task

Uploads files to an S3 bucket, either a list of individual files or the contents of a folder. Credentials come from a named profile in the AWS credential profile store, not from task properties.

Files made public are served from https://s3.amazonaws.com/<bucket>/<folder>/<file>.

Properties

  • CredentialStoreProfileName: The profile name in the AWS credential profile store (required)

  • DestinationBucket: The S3 bucket to upload to (required)

  • SourceFiles: The files to upload. Subfolders are not supported. Provide either this or SourceFolder, not both

  • SourceFolder: The folder whose contents to upload. Provide either this or SourceFiles, not both

  • DestinationFolder: The folder within the bucket. Must not begin with / or \, or end with \. Only checked with SourceFiles; with SourceFolder a leading slash silently becomes part of the object key

  • IsPublicRead: Whether the uploaded files are publicly readable. Defaults to false

  • ContentType: The content type to record in the S3 metadata. Only applies to SourceFiles

  • ContentEncoding: The content encoding to record in the S3 metadata, e.g. gzip. Only applies to SourceFiles

Example

<UsingTask TaskName="S3BuildPublisher" AssemblyFile="SIL.BuildTasks.AWS.dll" />

<Target Name="Publish">
  <S3BuildPublisher CredentialStoreProfileName="my-profile" DestinationBucket="my-bucket"
    SourceFolder="$(RootDir)/output/release" DestinationFolder="downloads/latest"
    IsPublicRead="true" />
</Target>

This uploads everything in output/release to my-bucket/downloads/latest, publicly readable.

Changes since version 3.3.0

Changed:
- BREAKING DEPENDENCY CHANGE: SIL.BuildTasks, SIL.BuildTasks.AWS, and SIL.ReleaseTasks no longer export any public package dependencies. Each package's job is to carry its own build-time
 tooling under `tools/`, so its dependency graph is now suppressed wholesale via `SuppressDependenciesWhenPacking` instead of marking individual references `PrivateAssets="All"`.
 Consumers that were relying on the transitive references (`Microsoft.Build.Tasks.Core`, `SIL.Core`, `Markdig.Signed`, `Microsoft.Win32.Registry`) must reference those packages directly.

Security:
- Upgraded `SIL.Core` (SIL.BuildTasks) from 9.0.0 to 10.0.0, which upgrades Newtonsoft.Json
 from 11.0.1 to 13.0.1 — past the GHSA-5crp-9r3c-p9vr fix. Combined with no longer
 exporting `SIL.Core` as a public dependency at all (above), the `tools/` payload now
 carries a non-vulnerable Newtonsoft.Json, and consumers never see either package. This
 reverses the downgrade from 3.3.0: `SIL.Core` 10.0.0 depends on `Mono.Unix`, which has
 never had a stable NuGet release and broke `nuget.exe`-based consumer restores back when
 `SIL.Core` was public. Now that it's private and build-time-only, consumers never see
 `Mono.Unix` either, and our own `PackageReference`-based restore resolves the pinned
 prerelease version without issue.
