About
Primo.Office.Pdf is a set of ready-to-use activities for Primo RPA Studio designed to automate processing of PDF documents. It addresses the need to extract data from PDF files and to fill in document forms within automated processes. Key activities include: extracting tables, reading XFA form data, and filling XFA form fields. The package can be added to any Primo RPA Studio project via the built-in dependency manager.
How to Use
In Primo RPA Studio, create a project that will be executed by the Primo RPA Robot. Install this package via the ".Dependencies → Manage Dependencies" menu; the "PDF" node with package elements will appear in the Elements tree. In pure code projects use the "Get table" element as follows:
//wf: [LTools.Common.Model.WorkflowData] parent algorithm link
//fileName - File name [String]
//idx - [Int32] Table index
//page - [Int32] Page number
//headers - [Boolean] Set headers
//password - [String] File password
DataTable Primo.Office.Pdf.PdfApp.GetTable(wf, fileName, idx, [page], [headers], [password])
Elements
- "Get table" - obtains a table of a PDF document into a DataTable variable.
- "Get XFA form" - reads XFA form data from a PDF document.
- "Fill fields (XFA)" - writes data into the fields of an XFA form, either from a JSON dictionary of values or from a table of field names and values.
Key Features
- User-friendly, intuitive interface
- High performance
- Supports .NET Framework 4.6.2+
- Fields for "Fill fields (XFA)" can be picked visually in the rendered document; when WebView2 Runtime is not installed, the element falls back to a manual field table
Main Types
- Primo.Office.Pdf.PdfApp
- Primo.Office.Pdf.Model.XfaForm

Added a visual field picker to "Fill fields (XFA)": click fields directly in the rendered document (bundled pdf.js + WebView2) to add them to the values table, with row reordering, per-row error indicators, a "Preview with data" button that fills the rendered document without saving, and Ok/Cancel semantics. When WebView2 Runtime is not installed, the activity automatically falls back to a manual field table (with a field-list refresh button) instead of losing functionality. Fixed an out-of-memory/hang issue caused by validating every field synchronously on each keystroke, and a related crash when editing fields. Fixed field validation and execution incorrectly reporting valid fields as "not found" on multi-page forms and templates with anonymous layout subforms. Fixed the "Fill unbound fields" setting being lost when a task authored on a machine with WebView2 is later run on a machine without it. Fixed the visual picker sometimes adding a duplicate row instead of selecting an already-picked field. Added a warning when clicking a form container instead of a fillable field, and the document name (or source variable) is now shown in the field picker window title.
