MTS.DBMigrator.SQLServer

SQL Server implementation of the MTS migration abstractions, targeting .NET 8, 9, and 10. Uses Microsoft.Data.SqlClient and SQL Management Objects (SMO).

Usage

Define migrations derived from MigrationBase<TContext>, then supply a context, migration collection, and logger:

Construct the migrations using the same context. Eligible scripts run in version order; the runner tracks script IDs, hashes, timestamps, and versions in __DBMigrator, and skips previously recorded IDs. Execution updates the migration status and rethrows failures.

Use an account with permissions to execute the migration SQL and maintain the history table. Migration scripts execute through a separate SMO connection from the history transaction; do not assume all schema changes will roll back with the history transaction.

The package explicitly references a patched System.Security.Cryptography.Pkcs version to override vulnerable transitive versions. Live database execution requires an integration environment and is not covered by the repository's current unit tests.
