What is LC.ReactionMonitoring?

LC.ReactionMonitoring package contains interfaces to hook into LabCognition's reaction and process monitoring and grab results from trends while a reaction/process is running in the software suite.

Previous Versions

LabCognition.Interface (1.2.0)

LC.ReactionMonitoring superseeds parts of LabCognition.Interface. Interfaces and methods used in LabCognition.Interface have been revised and renamed. Here is a matrix depicting the changes:

LabCognition.Interface (1.2.0) LC.ReactionMonitoring (0.1.0) Action
ISampleAnalysisResultConsumer ITrendResultsConsumer renamed
bool SampleMeasured(int sampleNo, string name, double time, DateTime measured, (string Name, double Value)[] value); bool SampleMeasured(int sampleNo, string name, double time, DateTime measured, IPredictionResult[] predictionResults); change result exchange using LC.Predictor's IPredictionResult type
SampleAnalysisResultToFile.config TrendResultsToFile.config renamed config file
Config class member variables Config class properties converted members into properties
Config class string Name member variable Config class string FileName member variable renamed variable

What is Reaction and Process Monitoring?

In the LabCognition software suite you may continuously record sample spectra with a spectrometer and evaluate them with preconfigured trends. Trends use chemometric methods to convert spectral data into a single value (the property value) you are interested in, e.g. a compound concentration. A reaction configuration may comprise multiple trends and hence produces one or more trend result values per sample through time.

Using ITrendResultsConsumer Interface

Basically, you can hook into several events fired during a reaction run is performed in the LabCognition software suite. Whenever such event is fired, one of the interface methods is called.

NOTE: To prevent the LabCognition software from halting on any error, please make sure to catch and handle all potential exceptions raised by your code!

The events are the following:

ReactionRunStarted

Occurrs directly on startup of a reaction run. Use this method hook to prepare eveything you need for the upcoming tasks.

SampleMeasured

Occurrs every time a sample spectrum has been measured and all trend evaluations have been calculated. All results are provided as IPredictionResult objects (see documentation of LC.Predictor package.

ReactionRunStopped

Occurrs when the reaction run is stopped or aborted. Use this method hook to cleanup everything you might not need any longer.
