Hardware Simulator in MiniStand system

Hardware Simulator in MiniStand system (The first NuGET package) is designed to simulate the hardware center (management) to talk with MiniStand Engine via MQTT protocol.

When MiniStand Engine runs, it send command via MQTT to ask hardware center to do action or measurement, hardware center will post response back then.

If you don't have one or more hardware devices on hand, then it is the chance to let Hardware Simulator to take the role. It doesn’t really communicate with hardware devices, just send back MQTT packages to simulate the device working.

The main UI is taken in the Word document.

In the left panel, you can set the response ahead of getting commands to do action or measurement. The right panel shows the log sending response to MiniStand Engine.

Every time when Start button was clicked, MiniStand Engine will send a MQTT command to ask hardware action or measurement described in selected testing items.

MiniStand Engine has some multilang jobs done, but not 100% sure. Default language is Chinese Simplified.

The work flowchart is like in the PowerPoint slide.

MiniStand sends out the commands to do action or measurement via MQTT package, and doesn’t care about who responds to it, Hardware Center or Hardware Simulator, either one.

Prerequisite:

1. You must run GeneralInstaller (the 2nd NuGET package) to install some necessary components with Administrator permission. Just run GeneralInstall.exe and all the COM components will be registered.
2. Install MQTTX at https://mqttx.app
3. Configure MiniStand Engine

First, MiniStandShell.exe is at C:\Program Files (x86)\PatrickGamp\MiniStandShell, it just takes the only parameter in its own config file – usually it is C:\Program Files (x86)\PatrickGamp\MiniStandShell\assets\config_v2.db.

Seconds, run following command in command line prompt:

C:\Program Files (x86)\PatrickGamp\GeneralConfigApp>GeneralConfig_v2.WpfManager.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\PatrickGamp\MiniStandShell\assets\config_v2.db"

General Config App will help you make some configuration items as your needs.

Remember, unpack InstallBits.zip and run the GeneralInstaller.exe with Administrator permission to use that. Also, 4 db files under assets will help you go through with existing data faster. Please reference to HardwareAndMiniStandWorkFlow.docx under sub folder 'docs'.
