Overview

The brute force dictionaries are C# implementations of constant word lists, designed for brute force applications. The overall purpose these projects were designed for is to assist with the creation or solution of word puzzles. All dictionaries contain a class named WordLists which subsequently contain a collection of properties that each represent the length of a word. For example:

namespace Dictionaries.Yawl {
    public static class WordLists {
        public static IEnumerable<string> TwoLetterWords { get; }
        public static IEnumerable<string> ThreeLetterWords { get; }
        public static IEnumerable<string> FourLetterWords { get; }
        // ... and so on.
    }
}

It is highly recommended that you alias the word list you're utilizing for clarity in your application:

using System.Linq;
using Yawl = Dictionaries.Yawl.WordLists;

// Select words containing the letter A.
IEnumerable<string> wordsContainingA = from word
                                       in Yawl.AllWords
                                       where word.Contains("A", System.StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase)
                                       select word;

Yet Another Word List

The Dictionaries.Yawl project is an implementation of Mendel Cooper's "Yet Another Word List". It was created specifically for the creation and/or solution of word puzzles on Puzzling Stack Exchange. The words available will never change (e.g. no new words will be added, and no words will be removed).
