ThinkGeo.Dependency.Oracle

A wrapper of Oracle Instant Client v23.8.0.25.04 (Basic edition) plus the GDAL 3.11.3 Oracle plugins (gdal_GEOR for GeoRaster, ogr_OCI for OracleSpatial) for Windows. This is a foundational dependency of ThinkGeo.Oracle and is not intended to be referenced directly by application projects.

The package enables ThinkGeo's Oracle integration to read OracleSpatial vector data and Oracle GeoRaster imagery.

Supported platforms

  • Architectures: Windows x64 (Oracle Instant Client is not shipped for win-x86 in this package)
  • Minimum OS: Windows 10 / Windows Server 2016
  • Target frameworks: any project that targets the win-x64 Runtime Identifier, including modern .NET (.NET 6 / 7 / 8 / 9 …) and classic .NET Framework via the bundled MSBuild fallback

The native DLLs are deployed app-locally during dotnet build and dotnet publish: with no explicit RID, the .NET SDK places them under bin/<config>/<tfm>/runtimes/win-x64/native/ (the runtime resolves them from there); with --runtime win-x64, they end up flat next to the executable.

No separate Oracle Instant Client install is required — the Oracle binaries ship inside this NuGet package and are deployed app-locally. The Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Runtime likewise flows in via the transitive ThinkGeo.Dependency.MicrosoftVisualCRunTime140 dependency.

Licensing

The Oracle Instant Client binaries are subject to Oracle's OTN License Agreement for Oracle Instant Client — free for development and production redistribution, with conditions on how you must bind your end users to compatible terms in your own application's license. The GDAL Oracle plugins are X/MIT licensed. See the bundled LICENSE.txt for the full per-component breakdown.

This package is part of the ThinkGeo product line. Please report issues through ThinkGeo support channels rather than to Oracle or to the upstream GDAL project.
