Soenneker.Quark.Gen.Lucide
Build-time generation of a trimmed Lucide SVG provider for Quark and Razor projects.
Install
dotnet add package Soenneker.Quark.Gen.Lucide
dotnet add package Soenneker.Lucide.Enums.Icons
dotnet add package Soenneker.Lucide.Icons
The enum package supplies LucideIcon values. The icons package supplies the SVG resources used during generation.
Usage
Reference icons directly in C# or Razor so the build can discover them:
@using Soenneker.Quark
@using Soenneker.Lucide.Enums.Icons
<Icon Name="LucideIcon.Check" aria-label="Complete" />
<Button>
<Icon Name="LucideIcon.ArrowRight" aria-hidden="true" />
Continue
</Button>
Register the generated provider with dependency injection:
using Soenneker.Quark.Gen.Lucide.Generated;
services.AddLucideIconsAsScoped();
At build time, the package finds LucideIcon.Name references in .cs and .razor files and embeds only those SVGs in the consuming assembly. Generated files are written under the intermediate output directory and compiled automatically.
Icon names created only through reflection, concatenation, configuration, or other dynamic logic cannot be discovered. Add a direct LucideIcon.Name reference for every icon that must be included.
Build options
Disable generation for a project:
<PropertyGroup>
<LucideGeneratorBuildEnabled>false</LucideGeneratorBuildEnabled>
</PropertyGroup>
Override the generated map path when the default intermediate location is unsuitable:
<PropertyGroup>
<LucideSvgMapOutput>$(IntermediateOutputPath)MyPath\LucideIconSvgMap.g.cs</LucideSvgMapOutput>
</PropertyGroup>
The generated SVG map and provider are implementation details. Consume them through ILucideIconSvgProvider or Quark’s Lucide components.
Application setup and troubleshooting
The Razor example uses Soenneker.Quark.Suite. Reference this generator directly in the application project and register its generated provider alongside AddQuarkSuiteAsScoped(). Installing the SVG catalog alone does not register the provider. The Quark installation guide shows the full setup.
The scanner looks for source-visible LucideIcon.Name references. Prefer those explicit names instead of renaming the enum through an arbitrary alias or constructing names at runtime. For runtime choices, keep a C# mapping that references every allowed icon directly.
If AddLucideIconsAsScoped() is unresolved, run a normal build, import Soenneker.Quark.Gen.Lucide.Generated, and inspect obj/.../Generated. LucideIncludeSvgProvider and LucideIncludeServiceCollectionExtensions default to true for an app; library authors can disable them when only producing the map. Do not copy those disabled settings from the Quark library into the application that needs the provider.
