Nova.Sessions.Abstractions

Shared contracts for Nova session-management middleware and persistence providers.

Version 10.2.0

This is a breaking contract release and must be upgraded together with Nova.Sessions.Data.Sql and Nova.Sessions.AspNetCore 10.2.0.

  • Added a shared SessionException base type.
  • Added distinct exception types for reauthentication-required and session-policy failures.
  • SessionMustReloginException represents a client that must authenticate again.
  • SessionValidationException represents an authenticated client rejected by session policy.
  • SessionConfigurationException represents incompatible application or token settings.
  • SessionDependencyUnavailableException represents a retryable infrastructure failure.
  • ISessionContextBuilder.BuildAsync replaces synchronous context construction so implementations can await IAuditLog operations.
  • ISessionsUoW.AcquireTransactionLockAsync is required for coordinating session creation across application instances.
  • Nullable repository results are declared explicitly when no matching session exists.

Migration from 10.1.x

  • Replace calls and implementations of ISessionContextBuilder.Build with the asynchronous BuildAsync contract.
  • Implement ISessionsUoW.AcquireTransactionLockAsync in custom persistence providers. The lock must cover the session-count check and creation transaction.
  • Update custom session exception handling to use the typed SessionException subclasses.
