A standalone utility for reading, writing, and validating database connection strings and related settings. It is independent of the input-box stack and can be used on its own.

What it does

IConnectionStringUtility / ConnectionStringUtility provide:

  • GetSettingValue / SetSettingValue — read and persist a named connection string or setting, either by connection-string name or by locating it in a settings container within a given assembly, backed by an app-settings file.

  • CheckConnectionString — validate a connection string against a provider and root database using a caller-supplied test action, optionally surfacing errors to the user.
