ERZHelpers

The ERZHelpers NuGet package (this repository is named RawCopy) is what Eric Zimmerman's tools use to read locked files straight from an NTFS volume and to work with Volume Shadow Copies (VSCs). It needs Windows and administrator rights.

Helper.GetRawFiles(paths, dedupe): opens each file from the raw volume (C:\Windows\System32\config\SYSTEM, C:\$MFT, or in a VSC: \\.\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy3\Windows\...). A file that doesn't exist, or can't be read, comes back with Exists false and no stream; Error says why it couldn't be read. With dedupe, files with the same SHA-1 are returned once.
Helper.OpenFile, RawFileExists and GetRawFileInfo: one file.
Helper.GetVssInfoViaWmi(driveLetter): the VSCs of a drive (or all, with an empty letter), by number, with their creation times in UTC. GetVssForVolumeVssAdmin gets the same from vssadmin (English Windows only).
Helper.MountVss(driveLetter, mountRoot): a hidden mountRoot with a symbolic link per VSC, named by its number (mountRoot\3). Links from an earlier call are replaced. If mountRoot holds anything else, nothing is deleted and an IOException is thrown.
Helpers: GetFilesFromPath (* or *.ext, recursive or not, errors skipped), GetVssNumberFromPath, GetRawVolumePath, StripShadowCopyPathPrefix, GetSha1FromStream, BytesToSizeAsString, IsAdministrator.
