DocWright.Formats.Text

Plain-text import and export for DocWright: configurable encoding detection, line-ending and paragraph-splitting policy on the way in, and a text writer with page-break and table-rendering options on the way out.

Install

Most people should install DocWright instead — it includes this package and wires .txt into Load and Save.

Extract the text of a document

using DocWright;

Read plain text as a document

Plain text deliberately never claims a stream during format detection — every byte sequence is valid plain text, so a reader that sniffed for it would claim everything. Say so explicitly:

Loading a file named .txt resolves by extension and needs no hint.

Options worth knowing

  • Encoding detection, with an explicit override when you know better
