DocWright.Formats.Pdf
Dependency-free PDF reader and rasterizer for DocWright: parses an arbitrary PDF — cross-reference tables and streams, the object graph, stream filters, content streams, colour spaces and embedded font programs — and renders pages to images.
Install
dotnet add package DocWright.Formats.Pdf
Most people should install DocWright
instead — it includes this package and gives you the one-call API below.

ImageRenderOptions must set PageEncoded or PageStreamFactory — there is no output
stream of its own, and it throws if neither is set.
Page selection comes from ConvertOptions.Pages, and an encrypted PDF opens with
ConvertOptions.Password, the same way an encrypted Word document does.
A reader, not an importer
This produces images plus the document-level facts needed to produce them — page
count, page size, rotation. It does not build an editable document model, and PDF is not
part of format sniffing, so Load will not accept a PDF. Converting PDF back into an
editable document is a different problem and not what this package does.
Not to be confused with
DocWright.Renderers.Pdf goes the other direction — it writes PDF. The two are
opposite ends of the pipeline, not a pair.
Hostile input
Object counts, nesting depth, decompressed byte totals and content-stream operation counts are all bounded, and image dimensions are checked against a pixel budget before anything is allocated. A hostile PDF fails cleanly.
Requirements
.NET Framework 4.8, .NET Standard 2.0, .NET 8.0 or .NET 10.0. No third-party dependencies.
