Markdown import and export for DocWright: a dependency-free CommonMark 0.31.2 parser with the GitHub-flavored table, strikethrough and task-list extensions.

Most people should install DocWright instead — it includes this package and wires .md into Load and Save.

Export is lossy on purpose

Markdown has no page setup, no sections, no revision marks and no shape model, so exporting to it discards anything Markdown cannot express. That is the honest behaviour for the format rather than a limitation to work around — use .docx or .html if you need those to survive.

Import is faithful: CommonMark is checked against the specification's own example suite.

Dependency-free

No third-party Markdown library.
